Premiered in 2004, Shanghai International Children Theatre Festival is an annual festival during the summer vacation (July-August), which invites more than 10 international theatre companies to stage their productions for children & young audience. Serving as an international cultural exchange platform, the Festival has already become the media focus and enjoys wide publicities in China. So far, we've invited professional theatre companies from UK, France, Spain, Poland, Denmark, Belgium, Bulgary, Croatia, Japan, China Taiwan and Hong Kong, etc. The total number of audience in the past 4 years has exceeded 150,000. Our audiences are usually from 3-8 years old with their families. At present, the festival is the only international children theatre festival in China.
Currently we're in the play selection session. The plays participating in our festival will be staged at professional theatre venues with 300-500 seats. Duration of plays preferrably around 50-60 minutes.
