Denmark has got a new showcase! –

Next spring will see a sparkling new showcase initiative in Denmark:

:DANISH+ - Aarhus International Performing Arts Festival for Children and Young People is taking place in the very attractive inner city of Aarhus 14-15 April 2008.

:DANISH+  would like to invite YOU to take part in this exiting new initiative!

The Showcase

:DANISH+ is a showcase of professional Danish performing arts companies for children and young people.

For this exclusive showcase we have handpicked only 17 productions; the best of Danish contemporary performing arts for children and young people (please notice the attached program).

All productions, presented at :DANISH+, are considered equally compelling for adults and children/young people, and :DANISH+ will appeal to interested professionals in the performing arts across the board.

The process of selecting the presented work has been based on only one sole parameter: Quality. The theatres will be encouraged to present their work in English or another foreign language, of course with consideration to the representation of international guests in the audience.

The board of :DANISH+ consists of representatives from three of the most prolifi c theatres in the present landscape

of Danish performing arts for children and young people: Gruppe 38, Det Lille Turnéteater and Asterions Hus.

Further information about the performances, artists etc. is available at www.danishplus.dk

The Quality

Along with quality, Danish performing arts for children and young people is widely acclaimed for creating and conceptualising the genre, and its productions, from an uncompromising and genuine artistic concern. Danish productions also aim for intense and intimate dialogue on several levels between stage and audience – the latter often with a size of less than 100 spectators.

The Benefits

You will be required to submit a registration fee of 200 together with your commitment to participate. The registration fee will cover your three nights accommodation in Aarhus (April 13th-16th), and provide you free entrance to all performances, free participation in all networking and free transport from Teatercentrum’s festival in Næstved to Aarhus.
